Implants

Your level of involvement

At Stradbrook Dental Centre, our referring dental practitioners can choose how much or how little they would like to be involved with an implant case, on a case-by-case basis.

To make it easier for you to decide what level of involvement you would like, we have devised four different categories for you to choose from:

Level One

Refer the patient for the whole restoration including:

  1. Planning
  2. Surgery
  3. Prosthetics

Level Two

Refer the patient for the surgical placement and abutment connection. The referring GDP completes the final cementable crown. No screwdrivers.

Level Three

Refer the patient for assessment and surgery.

The patient is returned to the referring dentist with a costed restoration plan. The patient will also have a healing abutment attached to the implant and will be ready to go for the restorative stages.

This level requires some prosthetic instruments.

In addition, specific training is essential to familiarise oneself with the components and procedures.

Level Four

For the experienced implant-trained practitioner - refer the patient, together with a treatment plan, for surgical assessment and execution of the plan.

The patient will be referred back with implants placed as requested and healing abutments connected.
